Watch this video to learn how to set up and use the Find My iPhone tracking system to locate your lost or stolen Apple devices. We'll walk you through the steps to set up the feature on your device, and show you how to track your lost device through the Find My iPhone app, as well as through your computer's web browser. To set up Find My iPhone: Open your settings. Tap your name. Tap iCloud. Scroll down and select Find My iPhone. Tap the switch to enable Find My iPhone. Tap the switch labelled “Send Last Location” if you want your device’s location to be automatically sent to Apple when the device’s battery level is low. To track your device with the Find My iPhone app: Tap Find iPhone on your iOS home screen. Sign in to your Apple ID. Tap the name of the device you want to find. Tap the blue dot representing your device on the map. At the bottom of your screen, you’ll see options to play a sound to help you find your device, put your device in lost mode to prevent others from using it or accessing data stored on it, or erase all the data on the device. Tap the car icon to get directions to the device’s location. To track your device through your computer's web browser: Go to 🤍 Sign in to your Apple ID. Click on a dot on the map to see a device’s name. Then click the i icon on the right. You’ll see the same options as are available on the Find My iPhone app – play a sound, lost mode, and erase device. Does Find My iPhone work when a phone is dead? Yes. If your lost iPhone is dead, you can see the last known location but not the current location. As long as you have Find My iPhone Last Location enabled (this feature is enabled by default, so you would have had to manually switch it off), you can still see the last known location. If you don't have this feature turned on, the location of your iPhone will not be shown on the Find My app once your battery dies. Can you find an iPhone that is dead? If you have the Find My Last Known Location setting enabled, you'll be directed to the last place your iPhone was located before the battery died. Unfortunately, if your iPhone has been moved after it died, there is no way to see the current location. Can you find an iPhone that is offline? Yes. As long as there are other Apple devices nearby, the Find My app can still triangulate the lost iPhone's current location using the crowdsourced Find My network. Can you find a lost iPhone that is turned off? Yes, as long as you have iOS 15 or later and haven't disabled Find My. In today's video, I’ll be teaching how to find your lost iPhone, even if the battery is dead or if your phone is offline. I know how frightening it is to lose your phone and how frustrating it is to try and find it, especially if it has a dead battery or if it’s turned off. But thanks to the rapid advancement of technology, locating lost iPhones is now easier than ever. So without further ado, let’s get started. Also, if you found today’s video helpful or informative, please consider hitting the like button, subscribing, and turning on notifications to always be updated whenever I post. Now, there are several methods you can use to locate your iPhone, and I will be sharing with you 4 different methods. Alright, the first three methods are made possible thanks to the Find My iPhone feature, and the last one is going to be using Google Maps. So first of all, open the Find My iPhone app on your iPad, Mac, or cellular Apple Watch. Once you're in the app, select the devices tab, and you'll see a list of all your enabled devices. Next, choose your iPhone from the list, and the app will display its location on a map. If your phone is turned off, the map will show a black screen, but it will indicate the last time the device was detected. But, if your iPhone is on, the map will display a colorful home screen along with the battery level. Now, the second method to locate your lost iPhone is to use iCloud's "Find My iPhone" feature by logging in to your account on any web browser. The authentication process requires a second Apple device, so if you're using your own Mac, you'll receive a prompt to grant access. But if you don't have a second Apple device, such as an Apple Watch or an iPad, you may need to receive an SMS code on your phone to log into your Apple ID, which could make the process a bit more difficult. Alternatively, you can activate Lost Mode to remotely lock your device and display a custom message with a phone number to contact you. Finally, the Erase iPhone option should only be used if you believe your iPhone was permanently lost or stolen, as it will wipe all data on the device. Now, don’t worry; you can easily restore your phone's data using your iCloud backup if you frequently update it. But what if you don't have another iPad or Mac on your Apple ID that shares the same Apple ID? Well, you can use someone else's iPhone or iPad to locate your missing iPhone. And Let me show you how. On their device, open the Find My app, tap the Me tab at the bottom, scroll down, and select Help a Friend. This will take you to a special version of the iCloud login page where you can enter your Apple ID and password to access a list of devices attached to your Apple ID, including your lost iPhone. Once you select your iPhone, you will see if it is off or on and its last known location. You can set the device to wake up or alert you when it is found, play a sound if it is on, or erase it remotely. So, Now you can go and look for your lost iPhone. Note that this method does not require a second Apple device and can be done on someone else's iPhone without logging into your Apple ID with two-factor authentication. And last but not least, you can use Google Maps Timeline feature to track down your iPhone, even if you haven't enabled the Find My iPhone feature.: First, go to 🤍google.com/maps/timeline and make sure you're signed in to your Google account. If you have the Google Maps app installed on your iPhone and location history is enabled, Google will have a record of your phone's movements. Simply select the date your iPhone went missing and check your last known location. But keep in mind that this feature only works if you have been sharing your location history with Google. So overall, finding a lost iPhone might seem like a daunting task, but there are a lot of options to locate it, even if it's dead or offline. From using Apple's "Find My iPhone" feature to iCloud's website and Google Maps Timeline, you have a range of tools at your disposal. By following the steps I showed you today, you can increase your chances of locating your lost phone and taking appropriate measures to secure it. If you dont have the actual phone that was lost or stolen you can choose more options, follow the prompts to send to any trusted phone number. Once your inside you iCloud, click Find my iPhone. You will see battery information and location so you know how long the iPhone will survive. You can either erase, lock or find it. You can either start this application or open iCloud in a browser. Sign in using your Apple ID. Your iPhone is to appear in the list of devices which is reflected below the map. Pick "Lost Mode" if you believe that you've lost your phone in a place where it can be picked by somebody else or if you have a suspicion that it has been stolen. -Bring up the Apple Watch's Control Center. To do this, simply swipe up from the bottom of the watch. Tap on the ping button and even if silent mode is on, your iPhone will make a sound that will help you to understand where it is. -After you open Google Timeline website, you'll see a button "Today" at the top of the screen. Check the last reported location. Observe the location data on the Timeline to see if your iPhone is moving or staying still. -Try Device Locator, FoneHome, GadgetTrak, Mobile Spy or other similar apps to track your phone. You'll be given some instructions that will appear on the screen of the device you're using. Most likely, you'll receive information about the activity of your phone, its previous locations, the most recent phone calls and texts, and other details. -If you can't find your iPhone, you can use any other phone to reach yours. Watch this video to learn how to set up and use Find My on iOS and Mac devices. #findmyiphone #findmymac #findmyipad #findmy To set up Find My on iPhone, first open your Settings. Tap your name at the top. Then select Find My. At the top, tap Find My iPhone. Then ensure that all switches are set to the On position. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password to confirm. To set up Find My on a Mac, open your System Settings. Click your name in the menu on the left. Then select iCloud. Under Apps Using iCloud, click Show All. Then select Find My Mac. Ensure both Find My Mac and Find My Network are set to On. If prompted, enter your password to confirm. How to Find a Missing Apple Device: On one of your other devices or on a friend’s device, go to icloud.com/find and log into the same Apple ID account that you use on the device you’re trying to locate. Then click All Devices. Select the device you’re trying to find. Once you’ve selected a device, you’ll be able to see on the map where it is located. In the top left corner, you’ll be able to see when the location was last updated, and the device’s battery level. You can click Play Sound to force the device to make a noise to help you locate it, or put the device into Lost Mode to lock your device and prevent anyone from accessing your personal information, as well as display a message on the screen so anyone who may have found the device can get in touch with you.
