Q4OS is a linux system based on Debian stable that comes in two main variants - Plasma and Trinity. It is designed to use minimal resources and it even offers a windows installer so that users can install the system in a folder on a windows NTFS partition - similar to the old Ubuntu Wubi from many years ago. Apart from this feature, it can also be installed in the usual way. And what sets it apart from vanilla Debian is it's user friendliness. Want a different desktop? It's a couple of clicks away. Want a desktop that automatically sets the right resolution? This seems to do it. Want to install non-free codecs? Again, just hit a button on the welcome screen. This is the first time I've used this distro and I've come away with the impression that it is fast, stable and built to last - the current release is supported for years. Q4OS es una distribución de GNU/Linux basada en Debian 10, que posee dos "versiones", una con Trinity y otra con KDE PLASMA. Es ist wieder Sonntag, Zeit für #sonntagsOS Teil 10. So'n Typ installiert: Q4OS 4.6 Gemini mit Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE) Q4OS wurde 2014 das erste mal veröffentlicht als Debian Fork mit eigener KDE 3.5 Weiterentwicklung namens Trinity Desktop Environment. Im Jahr 2015 ist dann das erste Final Release veröffentlcht worden unter dem Codnamen "Orion". Eine Besonderheit ist der "Desktop Profiler", bei dem man während oder nach der Installation des Systems verschiedene Anwendungsprofile einrichten kann. Von einer Leichtgewichtigen Minimalinstallation, bis hin zu einem üppigen Desktop mit allerlei Anwendungen. In diesem Video zeige ich wie man Q4OS 4.6 Gemini installiert. Danach schauen wir uns die Trinity Oberfläche mit den vorinstallierten Programmen etwas genauer an und schauen, wie wir das Startmenü anpassen können. Q4OS 4.6 Gemini ist für Profis und Anfänger geeignet. Die Zielgruppe sind Anwender, die seit je her an Window XP oder Windows 7 festgehalten haben und sich nicht gut mit Computern auskennen. Nach der Installation hat man auch die Möglichkeit zusätzlich Plasma, Gnome, XFCE, LXQt, LXDE, Budgie, MATE und Cinnamon nach zu installieren. Über diesen Kanal: Ich bin nur So'n Typ im Internet, der Dinge macht. Meine Schwerpunkte sind das Zeigen von verschiedenen Linux-Betriebssystemen und das Vermitteln der Idee der Freien und Offenen Software (FOSS). Geeignet ist dieser Kanal für alle Neulinge und auch ältere Nutzer*innen, die sich nochmal gerne weiterentwickeln möchten und mit ihrem Windows unzufrieden sind. Jeden Sonntag installiere ich ein SonntagsOS, das heißt, irgendein Linux Betriebssystem und schaue es mir komplett an. Im Fazit entscheide ich, ob das Linux-System für den normalen Anwender geeignet ist oder nicht.
